USSSA Update - August 1, 2013

By Gerry Turnberg

USSSA State Director

Central Division Vice President

It is hard to believe that this is the last Let’s Play Softball issue of the summer. Speaking of summer have we had one yet?

The weekend of July 13-14 we crowned our youth state champions. Congratulations to all the teams that participated and to the host communities North St. Paul, Oakdale and Champlin.

The month of August we will be busy every weekend crowning all of our adult state champions. Thank you to the teams participating in the USSSA state tournaments and good luck.

With the postseason right around the corner, remember if you play on teams in different classes, you are eligible ONLY for those weekend and post season tournaments with your HIGHEST classified team.  Teams found in violation of this will forfeit all awards and travel expense monies won and individual player eligibility may be placed in jeopardy. Ignorance is not an excuse; know the rules!

One last reminder, all teams going to World tournaments must play in their State tournament and a National tournament.

Central Division National Tournaments

Men’s “C” – Blaine, MN August 24-25

Men’s “D” – Blaine, MN August 31-Sept. 2

Men’s “E” – Waterloo, IA August 31- Sept. 2

Women’s “B/C” & “D” – Blaine, MN August 24-25

USSSA World Tournaments

All world tournaments will have a three game guarantee and all champions crowned in Florida will receive Josten’s rings.
